FOOD RECORDS LOWEST INFLATION AGAIN FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

33.9% was the Inflation rate for the month of August 2022, data from the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has revealed.

Once again, the drivers of the rate of inflation were led by Housing, water electricity, gas and other fuels (46.7%); Transport (45.7%); Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (44.7); Recreation, sport and culture (36.4%); Personal care, social protection and miscellaneous goods and services (36.0%) and the least being Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (34.0%).

This is enough justification that, there is food in abundance, and that, the prices of food on the market is not caused by scarcity of food, but rather, by other indicators such as middlemen manipulations, strength of the currency, cost of fuel, cost of transportation and others which have been affected by the growing global crisis.

We can only thank God for putting in place Dr. Akoto in charge of Food and Agriculture at such a crucial period to salvage the Nation from the creeping effects of the global food insecurity.

And it is such a firm person, Dr. Akoto, that we need as a leader to anchor and secure the NPP and government on a firm foot.

I am hopeful, the NPP will make the right choice at the appropriate time to safeguard the future of the Party and Government.

The handsome, intelligent and result-oriented man, Dr. Akoto, remains the best to lead the party!

Thank you!
