KMA orders removal of Kiosks,Containers from all commercial roads within CBD by March 31

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) led Samuel Pyne, has issued directive for the removal of all kiosks and containers from all commercial roads and areas in the KMA Planning area by Friday,31st March,2023.

The directive was contained in a press release issued by the Public Rations Unit of the Assembly dated 9th March,2023.

The statement was entitled “REMOVAL OF ALL KIOSKS AND CONTAINERS FROM ALL COMMERCIAL ROADS AND AREAS IN THE KUMASI METROPOLITAN PLANNING AREA”.

The statement reads,”The management of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has noted with serious concern the proliferation of kiosks and containers in the city.

In view of this, the Assembly has tasked the Special Planning Committee to remove all such containers from the commercial roads.

Management wishes to state categorically that such activities have been grossly done without planning approval and permissions.

By thus release, the Assembly is ordering any one with kiosks or containers around the underlisted areas to remove them by Friday 31st March,2023.The affected public is advised to comply or have the KMA and its assigned agents demolish and surcharge them for the cost of demolition.
