The SOMMET DE L’ELEVAGE (LIVESTOCK SUMMIT) is back for its 34th edition from the 7th to 10th October 2025 in Clermont-Ferrand, France.
A major event in the European livestock industry’s calendar combining excellence in genetics,innovation in agriculture, debates and conferences open to the public and of course its
renowned international angle making this trade show one of the world’s most significant
events dedicated to farming and livestock production.
Located in the centre of France, in the heart of the Massif central that is Europe’s largest
grassland area, the SOMMET DE L’ELEVAGE attracts over 1,750 exhibitors, 120,000 visitors, of whom 6,000 are foreign from 96 countries, 2,000 animals representing 70 breeds and hosts
140 conferences and symposiums centred on the challenges facing the farming of tomorrow.

Faithful to its reputation as an unmissable event in the livestock farming calendar, the SOMMET, once again, highlights the excellence of French livestock genetics, technical innovation, the rich diversity of French know-how and on-farm processing and, in Morocco, this year’s guest of honour, it underscores its commitment to the global livestock industry.Among some of the highlights of this 2025 show are,
• the Charolais breed National Championships, the iconic beef cattle breed
• the Simmental breed National Championships, a mixed breed renowned for both its milk and beef production
• the Sommets d’Or competition that rewards the most innovative (product and service) solutions for farmers
• the Fermiers d’Or competition that highlights the best of the region’s farm products
• a groundbreaking conference on climate change and sustainability in agriculture hosted by Jean-Marc Jancovici,cofounder of the Shift Project think tank

more than 6,000 foreign visitors from 96 countries who come to Clermont
Ferrand to discover or learn more about French cattle, sheep and horse breeds, and
to meet farm machinery manufacturers and distributors, animal feed and health
representatives and discover new innovations in the industry. As every year, a VIP
welcome with a dense programme of activities has been specifically concocted
for them, including free entry to the show, access to the International lounge,
conferences, guided tours and free shuttle service etc.
Not forgetting the unique programme of 35 farm and agri-industrial sites visits
(FARM TOURS) that allows the international visitor to learn more about French
livestock farming in situ.
Morocco, the SOMMET 2025’s Guest of Honour
The SOMMET DE L’ÉLEVAGE has chosen Morocco as its guest of honour for this year’s
show. With a rich agricultural tradition and a growing livestock sector, Morocco will
share its know-how, its ambitions and opportunities for investors with visitors to
the show. A strong Moroccan delegation of business and farming leaders will be
present throughout the show to reinforce cooperation with French and international
farmers. This invitation symbolises the common desire to develop sustainable
partnerships in the face of tomorrow’s agricultural and climate challenges.
