EJISU COURT REMANDS ALLEGED CABLE THIEF INTO PRISON CUSTODY

 

 

The Ejisu District Court in the Ashanti Region presided by Mr. Kwaku Baah Frempong has remanded into prison custody one Kwame Sabastine aged 26 and a resident of Ejisu Manhyia for allegedly cutting portions of railway lines. His accomplice one Rasta is at large.

Kwame is to be brought before the court again on the 10th of this month. Briefing the court, the Prosecuting Officer, Chief Inspector Jessie Ashongmor said on the 16th of July this year, a witness in the case was returning from town at about 1:30 am and on reaching the path where the railway lines are located saw fire at a distance.

This raised suspicion and as the witness got closer to the scene, Kwame Sabastine and his accomplice were seen cutting the railway lines. Chief Inspector Ashongmor said Kwame and his accomplice upon seeing the witness attempted to escape.

They were however apprehended by some town folks after an alert was raised by the witness and handed them over to the police at Ejisu.Story by GBC
