The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tano North constituency in the Ahafo region, who doubles as former Spokesperson & Economic Advisor to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged the delegates of the party to ignore all propaganda, fake Bawumia’s preferred list and vote massively for Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA) as next Ashanti Regional NPP chairman.
Dr Boako, who’s also the former Ashanti Regional NPP Youth Organiser who started his political career in the Afigya Kwabre South constituency, said, “I am for Number 1 for COKA, and I’m urging all delegates to turn up and vote for him if we really want Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and NPP to win power.”

As for the propaganda preferred, Bawumia’s list ignores it because Dr Bawumia is ready to work with everyone, especially competent and politically strategic politicians like COKA. ” No one will doubt the competency of COKA.
He has served the party.”Dr Gideon Boako made the appeal on Wednesday, 12th August, 2026, when he addressed the delegates of Afigya Kwabre South and huge party supporters to the climax of the constituency campaign tour of Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah’s bid for the Ashanti Regional Chairmanship position.
According to him, what motivated him more to suspend all activities and join COKA’s campaign tour was the fact that, apart from serving and contributing to the party for many years, he tried to become chairman in 2022, and even though he lost, he had never stayed back or rested but continued to work hard to bring all party members and supporters together to help recapture power.”COKA’s name is everywhere you go, both in Ghana and abroad, all because he wants NPP and Bawumia to win power in 2028.”
He said this was the kind of leadership Ashanti Region, which is the political world bank of NPP, needs as a regional chairman to help us win power. ” The former spokesperson and economic advisor to Dr Bawumia pointed out that apart from COKA’s competency, his strength centred on the very factors that have been identified as the causes of the NPP defeat in the 2024 elections.
Dr Gideon Boako observed that any time before, you realise COKA has engaged several disgruntled party members, various stakeholders and groups who were not happy about the party and government, one way or the other, and decided not to turn up to vote for NPP and Dr Bawumia.
I can tell you that COKA is super glued to win us voters in the Ashanti region.”According to him, this was the right time for COKA’s type of leadership as Ashantil NPP chairman, so please let’s all support and vote for him to help us win power.”
Mr Kusi Boafo, a leading member of NPP, and across a section of constituency executives in the region who joined the campaign both endorsed COKA as the best bet for Ashanti NPP chairman as the party determines to recapture power. They all appealed to delegates to vote massively for COKA to help unite the rank for a file of NPP in the Ashanti Region.
