Accra, Ghana — Member of Parliament for Trobu, Hon. Gloria Owusu, has made a strong case for the retention of Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong (JFK) as General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), describing him as a man of wisdom, an assertive leader, a solid manager and a committed team player.

Hon. Gloria Owusu made the remarks when JFK met with constituency executives from Trobu, Okaikwei South, Okaikwei North and Okaikwei Central as part of his campaign tour of the Greater Accra Region.

In a candid testimony before the gathering, the Trobu MP disclosed that although JFK has been a good brother to her, she did not support his first bid for the position of General Secretary. She, however, emphasized that her decision at the time never affected their personal relationship or JFK’s commitment to supporting the party and its parliamentary candidates.

According to her, despite not having supported JFK in his first contest, he never held it against her and did nothing to undermine her own parliamentary ambition in the 2024 elections.

That, she said, demonstrated JFK’s maturity, wisdom and understanding of leadership.

“I have come to the realization that JFK is full of wisdom. We must maintain him as General Secretary.”

Hon. Gloria Owusu further praised JFK for his assertiveness, managerial competence and team-oriented leadership, stressing that his effectiveness has not been limited to the party’s internal administration but has also been evident in his engagement with the NPP’s Minority Caucus in Parliament.

She noted that as an MP, she could confidently testify to JFK’s responsiveness to the concerns and needs of Minority MPs, particularly at a time when the Caucus has worked collectively to earn recognition as the “Mighty Minority.”

She said JFK’s accessibility and willingness to engage with MPs had contributed to the cohesion, coordination and effectiveness of the Caucus.

The Trobu MP therefore urged delegates from the four constituencies to look beyond personal interests and assess JFK based on his record, character and demonstrated capacity to lead the party.

She appealed to them to give JFK their massive support and votes on October 3, 2026, in Kumasi, to enable him to continue the work of strengthening the party and preparing it for victory.
