The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ahafo Ano South West constituency in the Ashanti Region, Mr Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, has expressed his deepest sympathy to victims of the Accra flood following heavy rains from Sunday evening, 28th, through to Monday, 29th June, 2026, which have left several residents homeless, destroyed properties and some reportedly losing their lives.

The MP, who’s popularly known as “Okumkom” in the political space, therefore admonished all residents to strictly adhere to the safety directives issued by the government and to cooperate fully with the emergency services and institutional frameworks mandated to manage this crisis.

The full post is reproduced below; As day draws to a close this evening, my thoughts and fervent prayers remain with the thousands of our compatriots who have been severely impacted by today’s devastating floods.On behalf of the people of Ahafo Ano South West, I extend my profoundest commiserations to every family that has tragically lost loved ones, sustained immense property damage, or been displaced from their homes.
