As usual, the fanatics of Mr. Alan Kyerematen have started jubilating and casting insinuations about the contest between Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Vice President of Nigeria, Oluyemi Osinbajo.
The Alan Camp is projecting that a win for Tinubu is an automatic win for Alan Kyerematen in the 2023 NPP flagbearership contest. And that a loss for Oluyemi Osinbajo, Nigerian Vice President means that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will lose the NPP flagbearership contest next year.
What a myopic and political blockheaded analysis?
The dynamics of Nigeria’s APC Presidential primaries have absolutely no correlation and regression with Ghana’s NPP Presidential primaries.
Responding to the political amateurish and presupposition of some fanatics of Alan Camp, I would like to address the following:
- Political Leadership Differences between Nigeria Tinubu and Ghana Alan Kyerematen
The political structure and influence of Tinubu in Nigerian politics is far bigger than the political structure and influence of Alan Kyerematen in Ghana.
Tinubu has been a National Leader of the All Progressives Congress(APC) since the formation of the Party in 2013 unlike Alan Kyerematen since the formation of NPP in 1992.
Tinubu was deeply involved in bringing together the biggest fragmented opposition PARTIES such as the Action Congress of Nigeria(ACN), Congress for Progressive Change(CPC), All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP), and a faction of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and a faction of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) into the All Progressives Congress(APC) which defeated the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), ending the 16-year rule of PDP in 2015.
These laudable achievements of Nigeria Tinubu can never be said of Ghana’s Alan Kyerematen. Fact is Fact.
- Political Mentorship Differences between Nigeria Tinubu and Ghana’s Alan Kyerematen
Apart from some people served in Kufuor’s Government who have been championing his agenda since 2007, how many well-known prominent politicians have Alan Kyerematen singularly mentored in Ghana? The answer is ZERO.
Tinubu has singularly mentored thousands of Nigeria Politicians, some of them serving Nigeria in the capacity of Senators and Governors. Other people mentored by Tinubu are serving as Party’s Executives at all levels in both the ruling APC and the main opposition PDP.
It is a well-known public knowledge that Tinubu mentored Yemi Osinbajo, the current Vice-President of Nigeria.
In fact, Tinubu initially wanted to become Buhari’s Vice-Presidential candidate but later conceded for Yemi(Oluyemi) Osinbajo, his protégé, ally, and former Commissioner of Justice.
Therefore, there is absolutely no way Osinbajo can defeat his master and political godfather Tinubu in any elections in Nigeria.
Tinubu has never resigned from APC since its formation.
Tinubu never abandoned APC for the World Trade post since its establishment.
- Performance of Osinbajo Versus Performance of Dr. Bawumia
The significant contributions of Dr. Bawumia to the running and management of the socio-economic challenges of Ghana far outweigh that of Osinbajo’s contributions to Nigeria.
Dr. Bawumia has proposed and led the implementation of policies such as Digitalization, Digitization, Mobile Money Interoperability, Ghana Medical Drone Delivery Service, etc., unlike Osinbajo who has not proposed or led any meaningful policy implementation in Buhari’s government.
Dr. Bawumia played a major critical role in the victories of NPP in the 2016 and 2020 general elections plus diligently representing NPP in court during the 2012 Election Petition.
The electoral success of Buhari and APC largely rested on the shoulders of Tinubu and certainly, he deserves to be rewarded with a victory over his political son Osinbajo.
The electoral success of Akufo-Addo and NPP in 2016 and 2020 largely rested on the shoulders of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and certainly, he deserves to be rewarded in 2023 as the Flagbearer of NPP for the 2024 general elections.Source:Razak Kojo Opoku writes
