Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin and the President of the National Assembly of Cote d’Ivoire, His Excellency Adama Bictogo have decided to lead the talk and make the two countries a shining example for the rest to follow.
Some scenes from the event

Good morning comrades yesterday the Convention Peoples Party ( Our Party) made the move we have all being impatiently waiting for which is giving us clear directions for the forward of our party.
BACKGROUND
Following the litigations and the long standing feuds in the party which led NEC to set all leadership aside, there were still other formers of leadership who carried themselves as leaders which stalled the activities of the Interim Council which was set up by NEC, including taking them to court to challenge the legitimacy of the Interim Council.
This was resisted by other comrades particularly key members of NEC who felt that as the second highest decision making body of the party their decision should be upheld.
In this back and forth situation the Founding Fathers of the CPP under the 4th Republic, decide to intervene.
So they met the former chair and leader of the party Maame Akosua Frimpomaa and listened to her.
After that, they met the former General Secretary of the party Nana Yaa Akyepim Jantuah and listened to her.
After that they met the former leadership and listened to them as to what the cause of the feuds.
After meeting the former leadership of the party, they met all the 16 regional chairmen who are the head of the constituencies in the region.
The founding fathers together with the Council of elders unanimously decided that the way forward was to step in and steer the Affairs of the party.
This was led to the formation of the Independent Committee at the residence of the former National chairman and leader of the party Professor Naa Edmund Delle.
The committee was unanimously approved and endorsed by all members of the party.
THE REORGANIZATIONAL COMMITTEE
The New established Independent Committee decided that they have to hit the road running due to the already wasted time.
A Reorganization Committee was constituted after wide consultations.
Comrade Yirimambo Moses and Comrade Habib Yakubu were task to cordinate the Reorganizational Committee with other members drawn from various part of the country and portfolios.
The Reorganization Committee were tasked to recalibrate the National Delegates album to ascertain the intergrity of the delegates album, to find out if the delegates in both the constituencies and Regions can meet the 2/3rd majority as instructed by the constitution in order for congress to take place.
The Reorganizational Committee dealt with the task given them by the Independent Committee with swift seriousness.
After the recalibration of the album and confirming the intergrity of the album, reports were made available to the Independent committee.
CONGRESS COMMITTEE
After the Reorganizational Committee submitted their report to the Independent Committee, the Independent Committee satisfied with the information available to them , set up the Congress Committee to design a roadmap to take the CPP to congress to elect a flagbearer.
Comrade Nana Mireku Tumi was appointed as the Congress Committee chairman.
Comrade Tumi hit the road running by constituting the congress committee immediately.
On the 23rd of August 2024, Comrade Tumi presented proposed Dates for the picking of nomination forms, guidelines to fill the nomination forms, supplementary documents like Curriculum Vitae, a police report from the C.I.D headquarters, a prove that an aspirant has been a member of the party for 4 years or more as stipulated in the party’s constitution and a prove that the aspirant is a member of the party in good standing.
Dates for filling of nominations and dates to start and end campaigns have all been stated in the Congress Committee report.
The Independent Committee satisfied with the proposals of the Congress Committee approved the proposal.
THE COMMUNICATIONS TEAM
The Independent Committee decided to set up a communications team to amplify the decision and position of the party to the General public.
The Independent Committee believes that the current CPP needs enough publicity and visibility in the public domain to champion the party’s agenda.
After broader and wider Consultation, the Independent Committee appointed Comrade Osei Kofi Acquah to lead the communications team and to be supported by comrade Ali Dayinday and Comrade Rose Austin Tenadu.
The communications team knowing that they also have to hit the ground running has proposed a program they call FROM THE NKRUMAIST PERSPECTIVE.
This proposed program which is yet to be approved by the Independent committee seeks to give a platform to let the CPP hold weekly press conferences by bringing members of the party who are well informed and expert to speak on how the CPP and Nkrumaist will run the various sectors of the economy when they win power.
This platform also aims at creating a visible platform to showcase the various parliamentary candidates who are contesting on the ticket of the CPP to give them the exposure which they need.
Party communicators are going to be trained to well represent the party on various media platforms across the country.
Forward Ever!

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) members in the Manhyia South Constituency are poised to campaign to help the ruling party retain political power on December 7.
This follows an appeal made to them by Nana Owusu Afriyie Prempeh, a younger brother of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, aka Napo, the NPP vice presidential candidate.
According to him, the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration has worked tirelessly to put the country on the path of prosperity, despite external shocks.
In this regard, he stated emphatically that the NPP presidential pair of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh should win the next elections.
“President Akufo-Addo has constructed a solid foundation for massive growth and we need the NPP in power on December 7 to build on where he will be leaving off,” he said.
Nana Owusu contested the NPP parliamentary primary in Manhyia South on July 14 to elect Napo’s successor, but he unfortunately lost the election.
A scene from the event
Despite the defeat, Nana Owusu is still determined work assiduously to help the NPP to retain political power and continue with their good works.
On Sunday, he organised a street party at Ash Town, in the Manhyia South Constituency, where food and drinks were served to scores of people, amid drumming and dancing.
“The Manhyia South polls are over so the hard work starts from now. We are to campaign harder than ever in order to ensure a resounding victory for the NPP in December,” Nana Owusu disclosed.
“Don’t forget that my blood brother is the NPP running mate, so we need to honour him by ensuring that the NPP wins the election,” he said, attracting wild applause from the crowd.
Nana Owusu also called for unity in the Manhyia South Constituency to ensure victory, urging the party members to start campaigning for the NPP.
Asawase MP Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was targeting to win at least 32 per cent of votes in the Ashanti Region in the December polls.
He said the NDC’s worst performance in the Ashanti Region has always been around 20 per cent of the votes since 1992.
Therefore. in the view of the Asawase MP, who is a former Minority Chief Whip in Parliament, people in the Ashanti Region are now awake considering the neglect by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the last eight years.
Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak
He said based on this, the NDC will increase its votes specifically in the presidential election to 32 per cent in the coming election.
“I’m very optimistic that this time around the NDC should be able to get at least about 32 per cent of votes in the Ashanti Region”, he said.
The NPP, according to the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare and running mate Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh have appealed to voters to deliver 85 per cent of the presidential votes for the party.
Speaking to Journalists in Kumasi last Friday, Mr Muntaka said the NPP’s goal of securing over 80 per cent of votes in the December election in the region is unattainable.
“With all the struggles that are so glaring, are you going to deny us from voting? Or how are you going to get the 85 per cent? I heard somebody screaming about 85 per cent and I said this guy is coming from some kind of place,” he stated.
Former Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Asawase, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, has dismissed the governing New Patriotic Party’s ambitious goal of securing over 80 percent of votes in the upcoming December election in the Ashanti Region, labeling it as unattainable.
Muntaka emphasised that the NPP’s poor performance in the Region will not go unnoticed, predicting repercussions at the polls.
Addressing reporters in Kumasi, Muntaka expressed skepticism about the NPP’s electoral prospects, questioning their ability to achieve such a high percentage amid visible challenges.
“With all the struggles that are so glaring, are you going to deny us from voting? Or how are you going to get the 85%? I heard somebody screaming about 85% and I said this guy is coming from some kind of place.
I’m very optimistic that this time around the NDC should be able to get at least about 32% of votes in the Ashanti Region”.Source:citinewsroom.com

The Mahama 2024 Campaign has strongly condemned the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) following its announcement of a presidential debate for the 2024 elections.
The IEA recently announced plans to organise Presidential and Vice-Presidential Debates leading up to Ghana’s 2024 General Elections
However, in a statement dated Friday, July 19, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the Spokesperson for the Mahama 2024 Campaign, slammed the IEA, describing its failure to officially invite the NDC before its announcement as “completely unacceptable”.
Joyce Bawah Mogtari
“The Mahama 2024 Campaign strongly condemns the recent announcement by the Institute of Economic Affairs (lEA) Ghana regarding a presidential debate for the 2024 elections. It is completely unacceptable that the lEA would make such an announcement without engaging or informing the National Democratic Congress, one of the major political parties in Ghana.”
The Mahama 2024 Campaign Team pointed out that the IEA lacks the authority to organise elections-related activities.
“The Constitution of Ghana does not grant the IEA any authority to organise elections-related activities. The fact that the IEA has not shown the decency or respect to at least inform the NDC of its plans raises serious questions about its motives.”
The Mahama Campaign accused the IEA of attempting to manipulate the electoral process in favour of the NPP, stating that Mr Mahama and his running mate Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, have been engaging with the citizenry for many years.
“The IEA is clearly acting as a front for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and seeks to manipulate the electoral process in favour of the ruling party.
“It is important to remind the lEA and the Ghanaian public that the NDC, led by our presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama and running mate Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, has been engaging with the citizenry for many years. Mahama’s online and offline conversations have targeted a wide range of audiences and focused on addressing the needs and concerns of the people of Ghana.”
