Lawyer Kingsley Bonsu-Kyeretwie, the only legal practitioner among the 34 aspirants for the Ashanti Regional NPP executives elections, has stated unequivocally that the Ashanti Region needs someone who understands the language of the grassroots; he stands tall among the 3 candidates vying for the deputy secretary post.

The candidature of Lawyer Kyeretwie continues to receive massive endorsement after TESCON presidents in all the 56 institutions and their members as well as the party’s regional security team both openly declared their unflinching support for him.

According to Nana Richard Aseidu, aka Nana Boakye, TESCON president for Christian Service University (CSU), and his colleagues and the Ashanti NPP security team led by Ernest Appiah Dankwa, Lawyer Kingsley Bonsu-Kyeretwie has been their backbone for many years, and with him in the lead as deputy secretary, the work will be easy ahead of their determination to win back power.

Making their official endorsement on Friday, 17th July, 2026, after following Lawyer Kyeretwie to submit his nomination forms, Mr Ernest Appiah Dankwa recounted many reasons why they believe Kingsley Bonsu-Kyeretwie is the right man for the job.

According to him, since they lost power in 2024, apart from the general secretary of the party, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua, who once, through Francis Adomako, aka Francois, gave them support, all the support for their activities or programmes has solely been from Kingsley Bonsu-Kyeretwie.

Besides, he is competent, humble and a team player to steer the affairs of the deputy regional secretary’s job. They are, therefore, calling on the delegates to vote massively for him to become the next deputy Ashanti regional secretary.

The security team assertion was fully backed by TESCON presidents who also pledged their unflinching support for Kingsley Bonsu-Kyeretwie. According to them, they need people who can do the job and are already doing it.

Subsequently, on Tuesday, 21st July 2026, a section of the rank and file of NPP, especially leading members and footsoldiers, also declared their backing for the workaholic legal practitioner and leading member of NPP. They’re therefore appealing to the delegates of the party to go out come 15th August 2026, and vote massively for Lawyer Kyeretwie, who’s number one on the ballot.

According to them, even though he was not yet the Deputy Regional Secretary, he has demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that he has the party and its members at heart.

Speaking to journalists after a successful vetting and balloting process, lawyer Kingsley Bonsu-Kyeretwie maintained that he’ll win the race hands down. And that his number one position on the ballot is the first signal or indication of his resounding victory.According to him, NPP delegates always reward hard work, commitment and dedication to service.

The rank and file of the party can attest to it that Lawyer Kingsley Bonsu-Kyeretwie has paid my dues by helping the party, especially the various organs, in various ways.

I’m therefore appealing for their votes to enable me to lead as deputy secretary to redouble what I have been doing well for them.

According to him, as a leader who listens and connects with the people, if given the nod, he’ll work tirelessly to strengthen the party from the polling station to the regional level.

Saying “my commitment to service, accessibility, and results-driven leadership continues to inspire confidence, foster unity, and position the party for greater heights.Stressing that the Ashanti Region, as the NPP’s biggest stronghold, must lead by example in organisation and record-keeping if the party is to retain power in 2028.
“I will make sure of accurate data correction,” he said. “We need a credible and up-to-date party register. When our data are right, our planning, mobilisation, and targeting become more effective.”He added that making the party more attractive to the people, especially at the grassroots level, will be central to his work. According to him, a revitalised grassroots structure is critical to “bringing back the elephant into power” in the 2028 polls. “Our people at the base must feel valued, informed, and involved,” KBK noted.

“That is how we turn our stronghold into an impregnable fortress and translate it into national express optimism about the upcoming internal elections,” KBK said he is confident of securing a strong mandate from delegates.
