Justin Kodua Frimpong’s Greater Accra campaign begins with overwhelming endorsements, emotional testimonies, and a historic traditional honour.
The campaign to retain Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua (JFK) as General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gathered significant momentum on Tuesday as the Greater Accra Region delivered an emphatic endorsement at the commencement of his regional campaign tour.
In a region regarded as one of the most politically strategic battlegrounds in the upcoming October 3 National Delegates Conference, and home to one of his challengers, JFK received a reception that underscored growing confidence in his leadership and his stewardship of the Party.

His arrival in the Greater Accra Region was led by the Regional Chairman, Divine Otoo Agorhom, who officially welcomed the campaign team into the region amidst an electrifying atmosphere. Delegates and party faithful from five constituencies, Kpone Katamanso, Ashaiman and four constituencies from the Dangme areas—received the General Secretary with chants, songs and enthusiastic displays of support that set the tone for an extraordinary opening day.
The most compelling moment of the first engagement came from Regional Chairman Divine Otoo Agorhom, who made a candid reflection on his position during the previous General Secretary election.
Addressing delegates, Chairman Agorhom openly admitted that he did not support JFK’s first bid for the office and had even attempted to persuade some Constituency Women Organisers to vote otherwise. However, he acknowledged that those women remained steadfast in their support for Justin Kodua Frimpong, a decision he now describes as the correct one.
Drawing from his experience as a member of both the National Executive Committee and the National Council of the Party, the Regional Chairman stated that he has witnessed JFK’s leadership at close range and believes the General Secretary has performed exceptionally, particularly during a period in which the Party operated without a substantive National Chairman for some time.
According to him, JFK demonstrated resilience, administrative competence and unity of purpose during one of the Party’s most challenging periods and therefore deserves another mandate to continue the reforms and rebuilding process.
The endorsement was further reinforced by constituency executives who shared glowing testimonies of JFK’s accessibility, responsiveness and decisive leadership.
In a symbolic and emotionally charged ceremony, the Chairmen of the five constituencies led by Chairman Solo of Ningo-Prampram jointly decorated Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong and conferred on him the traditional title Nene Korle I, describing the honour as recognition of a leader whose commitment to the grassroots has distinguished him among all General Secretaries they have worked with.
According to the Chairmen, JFK’s leadership has been defined by availability, humility and action.
“You can call him at any time of the day and he responds. Whenever issues are brought before him, he acts swiftly. We have worked with several General Secretaries, but Justin Kodua Frimpong is exceptional,” the Chairmen declared.
To further demonstrate their confidence in his leadership, the five constituencies also made a financial contribution to support his re-election campaign.
If the first engagement was remarkable, the second at the Susana Hotel in Cantonments exceeded expectations.
What was scheduled as a routine meeting transformed into a spontaneous declaration of support when Constituency Chairmen from Krowor, Ledzokuku and La-Dadekotopon took over proceedings.
For nearly twenty minutes, the Chairmen repeatedly prevented JFK from delivering his campaign message, insisting that they did not require persuasion before making their decision.
Their reason was simple: they had already assessed his performance as General Secretary and were convinced that he deserved another term.
The Chairmen unanimously pledged to deliver 100 percent of their delegates’ votes to Justin Kodua Frimpong at the October 3 National Delegates Conference in Kumasi, describing their decision as one based on performance, accessibility and proven leadership.
When he eventually took the podium, JFK reaffirmed the central message of his campaign, that he remains Prepared, Well-Positioned and Focused to rebuild the New Patriotic Party and lead its organisational renewal ahead of the 2028 general elections.
He called on delegates to consolidate the gains made over the past four years by renewing the mandate of a leadership that has implemented major structural reforms, strengthened internal administration and laid a solid foundation for the Party’s return to power.
The opening day of the Greater Accra campaign also witnessed an impressive display of unity among the regional leadership.
Regional Chairman Divine Otoo Agorhom, Regional Secretary Odarlai Parker France, Regional Organiser Prince Obeng, Regional Nasara Coordinator Jeff Kassim, Constituency Chairmen, executives and numerous party officers from constituencies scheduled for later engagements all turned out in large numbers to accompany and publicly endorse the General Secretary’s campaign.
JFK was equally supported by a formidable campaign delegation comprising the Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe, Hon. Lawyer Jerry Ahmed Shaib, former Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyeman; former Municipal Chief Executive for Ablekuma West, Hon. George Brey, former Municipal Chief Executive for La Nkwantanang-Madina, Hon. Dede Agyabeng; former Members of Parliament, former Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives, constituency chairmen and several senior party stalwarts from across Greater Accra.

In a region where expectations were high and political attention firmly focused, the overwhelming endorsements, candid testimonies and spontaneous declarations of support have reinforced the growing belief among party faithful that the man who has steered the Party through one of its most demanding periods remains the leader best placed to continue rebuilding the NPP and positioning it for victory in 2028.
