Helena Mensah picks #1 on ballot for Ashanti Regional NPP Treasurer position

Madam Helena Mensah, a leading contender for the Ashanti Regional Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) contest, has picked number one (1) on the ballot paper after successful vetting and balloting processes held on Monday, 20th July, 2026 at Hasta Lodge in Kumasi.

The vetting and balloting process was supervised by Madam Rita Asobayere,the Chairperson for the vetting committee who doubles as the second national chairperson for the Party

Madam Mensah,who’s also the Ejisu Municipal Presiding Member (PM),therefore pledged to provide effective financial management and promote unity among party members if given the mandate to serve in the upcoming regional executive elections.

She expressed confidence in her ability to win the contest and contribute meaningfully to the reorganization and strengthening of the party’s structures in the Ashanti Region.

According to Helena Mensah, who’s also the Treasurer for Conference of Ashanti Presiding Members (PMs),she possesses the competence, commitment and experience required to manage the finances of the party effectively, adding that her vision is to help build a stronger NPP ahead of the 2028 general elections.

“I am confident in victory because I believe in my competence and what I have to offer the party. My focus is to serve diligently and help strengthen the NPP ahead of the 2028 elections,” she stated.

 

 

She noted that her decision to contest the position was driven by her desire to serve the party and ensure that its financial systems are managed responsibly to support its activities at all levels.

Helena Mensah called on party members across the Ashanti Region to remain united and work collectively towards recapturing political power in the 2028 general elections.

She appealed to all aspirants contesting various regional executive positions to conduct their campaigns with respect and maturity, stressing that internal party elections should not create divisions among members.

According to her, all contestants remain members of the same political family and would need one another after the elections to rebuild and reposition the NPP for future success.

“We must avoid insults and unnecessary attacks because after the elections, we will still work together as one team. Unity and hard work are what will return the NPP to power in 2028,” she emphasized.

The Ashanti Regional Treasurer hopeful further urged delegates to vote based on competence, integrity, and commitment to service rather than personal interests.

She reminded delegates that she occupied the number one position on the ballot paper and appealed to them to support her vision with their votes during the regional delegates’ conference.
