Asphaltic works on the 19-kilometre Sunyani Inner Ring Road project under the Government’s “Big Push” road infrastructure initiative have commenced, with work progressing steadily on sections of the road.
A visit by OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng to the project site on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, revealed that actual asphalting is ongoing on parts of the dual-carriageway.


The project, being executed by Kofi Job Construction Limited, is expected to significantly improve vehicular movement within the Sunyani Municipality when completed.

Residents of Baakoniaba and Berlin Top have applauded the contractor for the quality of work delivered so far, describing it as impressive.

According to them, Kofi Job Construction Limited has demonstrated serious commitment since returning to site and they are optimistic the project will be completed on schedule.
President John Dramani Mahama performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the project on December 21, 2025, under the Big Push initiative aimed at boosting economic growth, reducing traffic congestion and improving connectivity within the Bono Regional capital.
When completed, the Sunyani Inner Ring Road is expected to open up the regional capital, ease traffic and enhance economic activities in the Bono Region.
