Hon. Francis Addai-Nimoh, a former member of parliament for Asante-Mampong, has urged the president to swiftly reshuffle his appointees.

According to Hon. Addai Nimoh, who has announced his intention to run for NPP flagbearership in 2024, a reshuffle by Nana Addo is long overdue.

He clarified that a reshuffle doesn’t necessarily mean that the appointees, particularly Ministers, should be dismissed from their positions but rather that they should be relocated to various areas to infuse new ideas and enthusiasm into the delivery process.

For instance, he said that only under Nana Addo’s administration has Finance Minister Hon. Ken Ofori Atta served for more than four years without a cabinet reshuffle under the Fourth Republic. He referred to the J.J. Rawlings era as an example.

He therefore called on the president “to trigger a reshuffle immediately, to oust the tired brains, and all self-serving appointees with immediate effect.

“Those who have been at a ministry for over 4 years are now redundant. They are utilizing a routine set of ideas, but if you conduct a good reshuffle, fresh ideas will come in to shake up the system.”
