Marfo Elvis, a young, brilliant student with 8 A1s in WASSCE at Kumawu Dadease in the Ashanti Region, needs support to pursue a medical degree, having emerged as a beacon of hope for his community.
In spite of facing significant financial challenges, he has achieved an extraordinary feat—scoring 8 A1s in the just-released WASSCE results, a testament to his resilience and academic prowess.
Coming from a needy family, Elvis found it difficult to meet his basic educational needs, making his achievement highly inspirational.
Through the visionary scholarship initiative of a former Assembly Member for the Kumawu Dadease Electoral Area, Mr. Kofi Adade, also known as Al Jazeera, Elvis gained the opportunity to study at Adisadel College, one of the prestigious educational institutions in Ghana.
The scholarship programme introduced during Mr. Adade’s tenure was designed to support students who excelled at the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), securing single-digit grades. The exceptional performance and determination of Elvis earned him this life-changing opportunity.
Today, Elvis dreams of becoming a medical doctor; he has a passionate desire to serve his community and contribute to the healthcare system in the country.
However, this dream is at the risk of being shattered due to financial constraints. His family, struggling to make ends meet, cannot afford the huge financial cost involved in pursuing a degree in medicine.
Recognising the gravity of the situation, the Kofi Adade Foundation, in collaboration with the family of Elvis, is making a heartfelt appeal to the government, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), philanthropists, and individuals to come to his aid.
They believe that investing in the education of Elvis is not only a gift to him but also a contribution to the nation’s future.

“Elvis has proven that brilliance and determination can emerge from even the most remote corners of our country. All he needs now is support to continue his journey and fulfil his potential as a medical doctor,” Kofi Adade said.
The foundation is, therefore, calling on compassionate individuals and organisations to help raise funds for Marfo’s tuition, accommodation, and other essential needs.
Contributions, no matter how small, could make a monumental difference in the life of this young achiever and his community.
