The Ashanti Regional Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who doubles as the Dean of all Regional organizers, Dr. Francis Adomako has taken on President John Mahama led administration for not giving the Ashanti Region its fair share of the national cake.
According to him, “after getting 7 constituencies and over 650 000 votes from the Ashanti region, the NDC Government can only give Ashanti region 3 centres of the national Coders programme
Adding that NDC got its 2nd highest votes from the Ashanti region. Smaller regions in Ghana have higher centres, but the Ashanti region with 47 constituencies got only 3 centres, and this is very shameful, ”
he added
The information available on the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation website says, “The Ghana government’s One Million Coders initiative is empowering Ghanaians with the skills of the future. Whether you’re a student, professional, or simply curious, this program offers a pathway to a brighter future

It would be recalled that Mr. Samuel Nartey George .the Minister for the the sector during the presentation of laptops for the programme on Friday, 10th April,2026 revealed that each of 130 learning centres to be set up across the country will be equipped with 50 customised laptops from government stocks of 20,000 devices. And that the programme will be extended to about twelve (12) universities;University of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST),among others.
But speaking to journalists on Wednesday,15th April 2026.Francois, as he is affectionately called in the political space, is unhappy about Ashanti Region allocating with only centres looking at the population of the region.
He also expressed concern that “again as we speak ,the initial plan for Suame interchange has been changed. The second phase of Central market reconstruction has been brought to a halt.Besides, there’s no sign of Sewua hospital and Afari Military hospital been opened anytime soon”
The Ashanti Regional NPP organiser who’s highly tipped for the next regional secretary position said as if that was not enough, nothing is going on various Agenda 111 hospital projects in the Ashanti region.
