An ace strategic political communication expert of the NPP has cautioned delegates to regional elections of the NPP during the weekend to be wary and mindful of voting for a competent and dedicated core of officers who can rally the party members to ensure the party wins power with Dr Bawumiah in 2028, rather than getting monetary benefits now and denting the spirit of the rank and file as it happened in 2024 and created anger and apathy which resulted in the abysmal performance at the elections.

Speaking to a cluster of 4 northern constituencies and through telephone contacts, J.K. Owusu-Boakye (General Abito) prayed the delegates to do away with monetary considerations and vote people with strong resolve to bring us together and forge a formidable front to wrestle power from a government with a vindictive and draconian approach to governance.

This is inimical to democracy and takes us back to the era of authoritarian rule, and fratricidal power struggles are dangerous for Ghana. Their modus is to disorganise and distract NPP efforts to build a thriving democracy.

Indeed, ambitions are good for the NPP, but the party knows those who can do the work of uniting the party, from market women, economic groupings, and middle-income workers, who cherished the party, and for the fragrant and lapsed performance of some party members, who did not go out there to vote, and we lost the elections.

This is a glorious opportunity for the delegates to redress the wrongs in the past and put the party in the winning ways. ‘ I urge you all to vote for true and committed officers to handle the Ashanti NPP and bring back the halcyon days of the NPP! From Chairman to Nasara, let’s vote for independent-minded officers who have the good stakes for NPP and who can regain our 74% votes to win power for Dr Bawumiah.
