Dr Francis Adomako, the incumbent Ashanti Regional Organiser and a leading contender for the Regional Secretary position, has expressed his strong optimism of winning the race hands down.

According to him, having served the party from the polling station level through to the constituency level and regional level, he is the most experienced, well connected to the grassroots and the best bet to steer the administration of the party in the party’s stronghold.

Dr Francis Adomako, who is popularly known as Francois in the political space, said the time has come for him to bring his experience to bear at the regional secretariat session as part of strategies helping the party’s determination to win back power.

Speaking to journalists on Friday, 17th July, 2026, after successfully completing his nomination forms submission, Francois pointed out that the role of the regional secretary is central to the party’s administrative and political direction and requires experience, coordination, and strategic planning.

Saying that it is time the dynamics and strategic needs are used to reshape the leadership in the region,” he stated.

“The secretary role is a vital role that matters to the growth, organisation, and victory of our party,” he added. According to him, his years of service in the region have exposed him to the structures, challenges, and expectations of party members at all levels.François , widely known for his humility and approachability, said he is the ideal candidate to take over the secretariat because of his experience working with past and present regional executives.

He noted that serving as Regional Organiser gave him firsthand experience in mobilisation, logistics, and grassroots engagement skills he believes are critical for the secretary position.

“I am the perfect replacement for the job, citing my experience working with all the then-executives,” Francios said. “I understand the system, I understand the people, and I understand what it takes to keep the party united and focused.”Party members in the region often describe him as a bridge-builder who maintains good working relations across constituencies and with the national leadership.

The Ashanti Region remains the NPP’s electoral fortress, and the upcoming regional elections are seen as key to reorganising the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.Dr Adomako said his campaign will prioritise strengthening the party’s database, improving communication between the regional office and constituencies, and ensuring effective coordination of party activities.

He added that the next regional secretary must be someone who can manage administration professionally while also providing political direction to help the NPP retain and expand its support base.
