The Odikro of Bibiani New Town, Nana Abu Gyabeng I, has expressed his determination to put measures in place to make his community one of the cleanest ones in the country.

He said, ‘A clean community does not only protect people from sickness but also attracts investors.’

Nana Abu Gyaben, who was speaking to this paper, said 20 dustbins had already been procured and would soon be placed at vantage points to get rid of filth in the community.

He explained that he is seriously considering purchasing a tricycle for the evacuation of the dustbins when full, and as soon as it is purchased, the dustbins will be distributed.

On job creation, Nana Abu Gyabeng said a lack of jobs for the youth has compelled most of them into drugs.

According to him, this is creating a major problem for the entire Bibiani township, and as a result, Nananom, which is playing major roles, has negotiated with the mining firms within the area to absorb them for permanent jobs.

He said the mining firms had agreed and had already engaged them in training in batches. “The devil finds a job for idle hands.” He added.

Nana Abu Gyabeng said he has also agreed with the Municipal Assembly to fuel the drip machines to work on poor roads within New Town to beautify the area. He appealed to hawkers who have turned the pavements into stores to pave the way when the work begins.

Nana Abu Gyabeng appealed to the government to construct a double road from Bibiani SHS to Bibiani roundabout to ease traffic congestion.

He urged his people to continue to support him in order to do more for them.
