The picking and submission of nominations for the Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) executive positions, which was slated for Wednesday, 15th to Friday, 17th July, 2026, has ended successfully devoid of any hitches, paving the way for the vetting process expected to come on Monday, 20th & Tuesday, 21st July, 2026.
After the closing of nominations, all the 35 leading members of the party who picked forms for the various positions successfully filled their nominations, making all positions contestable.

Out of the 35 aspirants, seven (7) are females, and the majority of 28 are males.Mr Kwaku Atta Sarpong, Deputy Ashanti Regional Organiser and a member of the Elections Committee, disclosed these during a media briefing on Friday, 17th July, 2026, at the DMB Ashanti Regional office, which is currently being used as the Ashanti Regional NPP Secretariat.

He said a proposed date for vetting the aspiring candidates is Monday and Tuesdays pending the approval of the elections committee.

Mr Atta Sarpong explained that 2 persons filed for the position of Regional Chairman, 4 for First Vice Chairman, 3 for Second Vice Chairman, 3 for Regional Secretary, 4 for Deputy Regional Secretary, 3 for Regional Treasurer, 3 for Regional Organiser, 3 for Women’s Organiser, 4 for Youth Organiser, 4 for Nasara Coordinator, and 2 for Communications Officer positions, respectively.
He therefore used the opportunity to commend the aspirants for the orderly manner in which they have conducted themselves so far.He assured the rank and file of the party that the Elections Committee was committed to conducting a free, fair, transparent, and credible vetting process.
Mr Kwaku Atta Sarpong also appealed to all contestants and their supporters to maintain unity and discipline as the party prepares to elect new regional executives to steer the affairs of the party ahead of the 2028 general election.
