Bernard Antwi Bosiako, popularly referred to as Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party has openly declared support for Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia to become the party’s next flagbearer.

He promised to campaign for the Vice President just as he did for Nana Akufo-Addo.

Wontumi was spotted in a 30-second video in which he was telling party members to vote for John Boadu to retain his position during the party’s national delegates’ conference at the Accra Sports stadium on Saturday on July 16.

“I know that in your hearts you are looking for Dr. Bawumia to win the primaries and succeed Akufo-Addo. I promise that I will lead the campaign as I did for President Akufo-Addo for him (Dr. Bawumia) to break the 8,” he stated.

The most anticipated and heated NPP Presidential elections will take place next year, in 2023.

Some party stalwarts who are likely to run alongside the Vice President are Allan Kyerematen, Kennedy Agyapong, Joe Ghartey, Boakye Agyarko, Kwabena Agyei Agyarko, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto and others. Source:Isaac Donkor Distinguished
