Mariam Yussif officially joins Asawase NPP Youth Organizer race; pledges grassroots transformation

 

Mariam Yussif, a staunch member of the opposition NPP has officially declared her intention to contest for the position of Youth Organizer in the Asawase Constituency.

In a formal declaration of her intent, the 34-year-old aspirant emphasized that the youth are the backbone of the party’s success in Asawase, a constituency widely regarded as a crucial battleground for the NPP.

Outlining her clear vision, the vibrant grassroots’ activist and IT professional said, her campaign is built on a five- point transformation agenda designed to revitalize the youth wing. Her key priorities include grassroots mobilization; thus strengthening youth engagement across all polling stations, unity and discipline which is centered on promoting a culture of loyalty and togetherness within the party.

Others include active empowerment by creating platforms to engage and empower youth for party activities, increased participation which involves driving higher youth turnout in elections and party programs. The last but not the least is strategic competitiveness. With this. she said, it involves supporting innovative strategies to make the NPP more competitive against opposition forces in Asawase.

“I am stepping forward with a clear vision to serve with dedication, humility, and hard work. I will be accessible, accountable, and focused on advancing the interests of every young party member.” She said.

Profile of the Candidate
Mariam Yussif brings a wealth of political and academic experience to the race. She is currently a student at the Christian Service University (CSU), where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Information Technology.

 

 

Her political resume is marked by active service and leadership. She is the founder of the “United Ladies and Gents for DMB,” a group dedicated to the party’s cause, and currently serves as the Deputy Coordinator for the B24 Asawasi campaign team.

Notably, Mariam is not new to the electoral process, having previously contested for the Assemblywoman position in the Akurem Electoral Area. Though she was unsuccessful in that race, she describes the experience as a vital learning curve that has better prepared her for the complexities of constituency-level leadership.

As the NPP prepares for its internal elections, Mariam has called on all young party members to unite behind a common goal of making the party a formidable winning force in Asawase.

“Together, let us build a stronger, united, and winning NPP in Asawase”.
