The Omanhene of the Prang Traditional Area in the Pru West District of the Bono East Region, Nana Kwadwo Nyarko III, has urged President John Mahama to prioritise quality healthcare delivery, especially in rural areas.
He said healthcare and other related issues are the main challenges affecting the growth and development of the country, especially in rural communities.
According to Nana Nyarko, governance is a continuous process and there is the need for the new administration to see or realise the need to continue all uncompleted projects, especially the Agenda 111 hospitals initiated by the previous NPP government.
Speaking to “The New Trust” newspaper recently, the chief said “the previous administration initiated Agenda 111 hospitals which Prang is a beneficiary of one but it is yet to be completed.”

According to him, this project is very dear to his heart because of health-related issues confronting his people.
He said “sometimes transferring a patient to either Mampong or Kumasi is very hectic and it takes a miracle for patients to survive looking at the distance involved.”
Nana Nyarko, therefore, appealed to the President through the Health Minister, Mr Kwabena Minta Akandoh, as a matter of urgency, to come to their aid by taking necessary measures to complete the project to save lives.
“Nana Akufo-Addo started these projects with Ghana’s fund and if there is a change in government, the new government must continue it with the same fund and we shouldn’t leave it to rot in the bush,” he stressed.
On the Council of State election, Nana Nyarko said the position is revered and people should go there with good intentions.
He pointed out that they must be bold to advise the President on issues that are hampering the growth and development of the nation.
According to him, Council of State members play vital roles in any administration and they must continue to sustain it by offering good advice and directions to the President to help him succeed in his administration.
