Mr. Wallace Ababio, a diehard and one of the hard-working Ashanti Regional communication team member for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), has received another shock of his life after his name has not been shortlisted for consideration as Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Afigya Sekyere South in the Ashanti Region.

Mr. Ababio, who is popularly known as Uncle Wallace, the current Administrator for the Ashanti Regional headquarters of NDC, was previously denied post during the previous Mills/Mahama administration in spite of his sacrifice for the party and his qualification for several available positions.

Without giving up, he continued to fight vigorously for the party to retain power after eight years in opposition.

Over the years, Uncle Wallace has consistently been moving from one radio/television station to another to defend and promote the NDC in the Ashanti Region, but he has been sidelined again.

A source close to the MMDCEs vetting committee that shortlisted three persons for national consideration says the members of the committee are sharply divided over the conspicuously missing name of Uncle Wallace from the shortlisted names.

Unfortunately, Uncle Wallace has now become a laughing stock among his peer communicators and some residents of the Ashanti Region for being sidelined in President Mahama’s appointments.

What has worsened his ’embarrassing’ situation, according to many, is the decision by the vetting committee to exclude his name from the shortlisted names for the MCE post, though much is not known about the qualifications of those whose names have been shortlisted.
