The Chairman of the Twelve Apostles Church of Ghana, Prophet F. W. K. Yeboah has bemoaned the increasing rate of criminal activities in the country. He said things would get out of hands if stiffer punishment is not implemented to deter others.
In an exclusive interview, Prophet Yeboah said the leadership of the country has kept blind eyes on the perpetrators offering them a great advantage to commit heinous crimes in the country. He said Ghana would continue to experience these criminal activities because the punishment melted out to them seem not to be enough to discourage them.
He reiterated that, the only way to curb these criminal activities is the introduction of death penalty. “If you killed someone and you are also be killed, these criminals would not involve into this “he said.
According to him, he always loves the principles of the former President J. J. Rawlings for being courageous and integrity. The Chief Executive Officer of Osofo Yeboah Herbal Center at Adabraka near Kumasi said you dare not commit murder in Rawlings’s regime and go free.
He said Rawlings era brought a lot of fear into the system where people were afraid to commit serious crimes like murder all because you will not be spared when caught. According to Prophet Yeboah, these criminals have taken the advantage of weak system and do whatever they want. “I am in full support of the reintroduction of the death penalty to sanitize the system ” he added.Story by Kofi Owusu
