The former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), who doubles as the former MP for the Bantama constituency, Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has intensified his campaign for the Ashanti Regional Chairman position.


He has, therefore, appealed to the delegates of the party to support his candidature come the 15th August, 2026, regional delegates conference.
Dr Kokofu, who is also the former Bantama constituency chairman, pledged to provide dedicated leadership focused on strengthening the party with the united front prepared for victory in the 2028 general election.

Henry Kwabena Kokofu (Esq.) made the called on Friday after he officially filed his nomination to contest the Ashanti Regional Chairmanship of NPP.
The Ashanti Regional NPP chairman hopeful stressed the need for unity.
According to him, the rank and file of the party must remain united and guided by the process of the contest before, during, and after the elections.
Dr Kokofu called for internal cohesion and mutual respect among party members at all times if they (NPP) can maintain their dominance in Ashanti and be able to recapture political power in the 2028 elections.
He therefore urged all aspirants, delegates and supporters to conduct their campaigns peacefully, avoiding actions or utterances that could create division within the party.
The former EPA boss said if elected as regional chairman, he would provide inclusive and visionary leadership by working closely with constituency executives, polling station officers, grassroots members and all stakeholders to reposition the party for future electoral success.
According to him, the Ashanti Region remains the electoral backbone of the NPP and therefore requires strong leadership capable of fostering unity, discipline, and effective mobilisation at all levels of the party.
The chairmanship aspirant further pledged to promote peace, transparency, and teamwork in the administration of the regional party while supporting initiatives that would energise the grassroots and improve internal party organisation..
