A businessman perceived to be a sympathiser of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asutifi South Constituency of the Ahafo Region, Desmond Kwadwo Manu, has made a passionate appeal to the Inspector General of police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo-Dampare, and other security agencies to intervene to save his life and that of others.
His fear and panic appeal follows a viral video of a man believed to be Naaba Abdulai, a younger brother of the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Alhaji Collins Dauda, issuing threats to deal drastically with certain people in the area, including him (Desmond), now that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has come back to power.
Attached below is the short video;
According to Desmond, he doesn’t know what he has said or done against him to warrant the threat.
It would be recalled that Naaba Abdulai was said to have put fear and panic in some residents of the area prior to the 2016 general election. As soon as the NPP won power, there were calls for the Ghana Police Service to arrest and prosecute him, but he was said to have gone into hiding.

He is reported to have bounced back right after the NDC was declared the winner of the just-ended 7th December general election.
In the viral video, Naaba Abdulai is seen addressing some supporters of the NDC and planning to deal mercilessly with Desmond, Yaw Dwomo Mensah, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, among others.
The man claimed the DCE for Asutifi South District, Mr. Yaw Dwomo Mensah, had accused him on radio stations that he (Naaba) had been killing human beings.
Following this harrowing video, Desmond and the others mentioned are currently in total fear and panic.
Desmond told a journalist that though he was at his hideout, he was on his way to make an official report to the Hwidiem police.
He said “since I got the video I have since fled with my entire family and left behind my business. I have to run for my life to an unknown location. I’m by this publication appealing to the Inspector General of Police, the National Security and other state agencies to quickly intervene to deal with the situation because no one, including myself, has done anything wrong to Naaba, the brother of Hon. Alhaji Collins Dauda,” he claimed.
