According to him, “the future belongs to the youth,” stressing that young people must not remain passive observers but should actively engage in decision-making at all levels of leadership. He called on the youth within the party and across the country to rise, take responsibility, and position themselves as key drivers of national development.
His declaration signals a strong youth-centered campaign message, one that is likely to resonate with the grassroots and first-time voters within the constituency.
Political observers believe his background and experience at the Presidency could play a significant role in shaping his campaign and appeal.

The Fomena Constituency, known for its dynamic political history, is expected to witness renewed energy as aspirants begin to position themselves ahead of the NPP primaries. Nana Yaw Acheampong’s entry adds to the growing list of contenders, further intensifying the race.
As the internal contest approaches, attention will be on how aspirants connect with delegates, articulate their vision, and mobilise support across the constituency.
