Mr. Zakaria Seidu, a business mogul and a long-standing pillar of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asawase Constituency, has formally declared his intention to contest for the position of 1st Vice Chairman.

Bringing years of deep-rooted grassroots experience to the table, Mr. Seidu’s announcement has sparked excitement among party faithful who view his candidacy as a move toward stabilizing and strengthening the party’s structures in one of the region’s most strategic constituencies.

Mr. Seidu is no stranger to the political terrain of Asawase. His resume within the party is extensive, having served as a two-term Polling Station Chairman, a two-term Electoral Area Coordinator, and a two-term Second Vice Chairman for the constituency. Known also as an effective party communicator and a successful entrepreneur, Seidu believes his transition to the 1st Vice Chairmanship is the natural next step in his journey of service to the NPP.

“Asawase remains a crucial constituency where the capability and commitment of leadership determine the future of our great party,” Mr. Seidu stated during his declaration. “While we have made significant gains, I believe that with renewed strength and effective mobilization, we can achieve even greater success.”

Outlining his roadmap for leadership, Zakaria Seidu presented a vision centered on grassroots empowerment and strategic competitiveness ahead of the 2028 general elections. His four key pillars include: Grassroots Empowerment: Actively engaging the base to take a leading role in party activities, Increased Participation: Driving higher involvement in elections and official programs.
Others include Strategic Competitiveness which aims at implementing modern strategies to make the NPP the most attractive choice in Asawase for the 2028 polls, Discipline and Unity: This is going to be done by promoting unwavering loyalty and togetherness among all members.

The aspirant pledged to lead with humility and transparency, promising to be a “Vice Chairman for the people.” He emphasized that his office would remain accessible and accountable to every member, regardless of their rank.

“I am committed to serving with dedication and hard work. My focus is on advancing the interests of every member of our dear party,” he noted.

As the NPP internal elections draw closer, political analysts in the constituency suggest that Mr. Seidu’s vast experience as a former Second Vice Chairman and his background as a businessman give him a unique advantage in understanding both the organizational and logistical needs of the Asawase NPP.

He concluded his declaration with a rallying call: “Together, let us build a strong, united, and winning Asawase for the NPP. I respectfully ask for your support and your vote.”
